The Opportunity
The foundation for the Canadian Museum of Recorded Music & Culture has already been built.
A collection gifted to CMRMC by our Chair includes over 100,000 unique and pristine vinyl records, many phonographs and stereos, large quantities of promotional materials like photographs, catalogs, posters, magazines, books and colorful collectables; all organized in a powerful, unique and highly accessible database.
This is the Cornerstone Collection that CMRMC will now built out to include musical treasures from the birth of recorded music in the late 19th century to the present day.
CMRMC will collect, preserve, share, and celebrate our nation’s role in the world’s most popular art form.
CMRMC will preserve, build on and share the world’s most extensive, most organized and most accessible recorded music collection to inform and inspire visitors from all over Canada and the world.
